Daring Cooks Challenge: Cannelloni!
Manu from Manu’s Menu was our Daring Cooks lovely June hostess and has challenged us to make traditional Italian cannelloni from scratch! We were taught how to make the pasta, filling, and sauces shared with us from her own and her family’s treasured recipes!
Please excuse the horrible iphone photo, I made this dish late at night and just couldn't be bothered to break out a proper camera.
I made the CANNELLONI DI CARNE, and attempted at making my own pasta. Which did not work. I learned very quickly having a pasta roller makes life a hell of a lot easier. My pasta looked more like dumpling squares because I couldn't roll the dough out enough. (p.s. I tasted it anyway, and it was pretty good) All new adventures have their problems. I made the filling without a hitch and wrapped it in store bought pasta sheets. It was delicious! I plan on making this again, and hopefully by then Ill have a pasta roller. :)
